These are some of the things C. Flynt has been up to, some of our personal lives, some reviews of things we've read, some stuff we've learned.

The blogs are organized by date.

Comments will appear when we've had time to check them. Apology for the inconvenience, but it's a way to keep phishers and spammers off the page.

We held a memorial/celebration of life for Carol on December 5'th at a friend's bookstore.

There's no place more appropriate for Carol.

About thirty local friends attended, and I set up a zoom link for her friends from overseas.

I made a recording of the session, but haven't been able to look at it.

The celebration of life went well. We gathered at about 4:30 and a little before 5:00 began the as-formal-as-it-gets portion where folks talked about their memories of Carol. Renee and Dalya talked about knowing Carol in junior high. Ginger spoke of her time working with Carol at the College Boards. Barisha and Carol talked about singing with Carol in the 1980s and '90s, and members of the critique groups described how much Carol helped them improve as authors as well as being a good friend.

I played Carol's "To a Friend" song, hopefully loud enough that the folks on Zoom could hear it. After this, those present in person (about 30 folks) went outside to take off masks and share a toast.

About 10 years ago, after Carol had an ovarian cyst removed, she didn't want to eat. This was understandable, her stomach hurt, but not a good way to heal.

So I invented the blueberry quiche. Blueberries were her favorite fruit, and this concoction tempted her enough to eat a high-protein egg meal.

While Carol was in the ICU, and I fully expected her to come home soon, I made and froze a couple fruit quiches, so I'd be ready for her return.

I thawed and re-heated these quiches for the memorial and passed out pieces of quiche after we toasted Carol.
