The main thing I learned from the session was how to pitch a story. Sam invited pitches, and I listened carefully to how others presented their stories. Brief, punchy, stressing what is unique to the story. Not necessarily full sentences. I would imagine the pitch would be a bit different in a query letter, but in person, with only a minute or two of someone's attention, bullet points work best. Or so it seemed to me.
